Scope 

This policy applies to: 

  • Visitors to our website at www.matrix888.com

  • Authorised users of the Matrix Field Ops mobile application, which is a private, internal business application distributed only to Matrix employees and authorised contractors via Apple Business Manager. The Matrix Field Ops app is not available to the general public.

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

Personal Data

Mobile Application Data (Matrix Field Ops) 

When you use the Matrix Field Ops mobile application, we collect the following additional categories of information: 

  • Account and identity information - your name, work email address, and user identifier, provided through Microsoft Entra ID (single sign-on) when you sign in. 

  • Precise location data - your device's precise geographic location, used to associate work activity with specific job sites, navigate to assigned jobs, and confirm site arrival. Location is only collected while you are signed in to the app. 

  • Work activity data - information you enter or generate while using the app, including job assignments, shift start and end times, equipment checked in or out, incident and safety reports, pre-shift safety checks, lone worker check-ins, and timesheet entries. 

  • Device and diagnostic information - basic device identifiers, operating system version, and crash or performance diagnostics, used to maintain and improve the app. 

Use of Data 

Matrix Traffic and Transport Data uses the collected data for various purposes: 

  • To provide and maintain the Service. 

  • To notify you about changes to our Service. 

  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of our Service when you choose to do so. 

  • To provide customer care and support. 

  • To provide analysis or valuable information so that we can improve the Service. 

  • To monitor the usage of the Service. 

  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues. 

  • To authenticate users of the Matrix Field Ops mobile application as Matrix employees or authorised contractors.

  • To record workplace health and safety information, including SWMS compliance, incident reports, and lone worker monitoring. 

  • To produce timesheets, payroll records, and operational reports.

If you are located outside Australia and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to Australia and process it there.

For the Matrix Field Ops mobile application, we use industry-standard security measures including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted storage, role-based access controls, and Microsoft Entra ID authentication. Access to operational data is restricted to authorised Matrix personnel.

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service ("Service Providers"), to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services, or to assist us in analysing how our Service is used. 

These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. 

Analytics 

We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyse the use of our Service. 

  • Google Analytics - Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualise and personalise the ads of its own advertising network. 

You can opt-out of having your activity on the Service made available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visit activity.

Mobile Application Service Providers 

The Matrix Field Ops mobile application uses the following service providers: 

  • Microsoft (Azure/Entra ID) - for user authentication and identity management. 

  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers - for storage of Matrix operational data. 

  • Mapping and location service providers - for displaying job site locations and navigation. 

  • Apple Inc. - for app distribution and management through Apple Business Manager and the App Store Connect platform. 

Data Retention 

We retain operational records for the period required to meet our business, contractual, and legal obligations, including workplace health and safety record-keeping requirements under Australian and New Zealand law. When information is no longer required, it is deleted or de- identified. 

Your Rights 

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have rights to access and correct personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, or to raise a privacy concern, contact us using the details below.

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 ("Children"). The Matrix Field Ops mobile application is restricted to Matrix employees and authorised contractors aged 18 or over. 

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
